Welcome to Jradartdesign I am Jennifer Radcliffe a watercolor and mixed media artist. I love to paint nature and I make my own ink and watercolor made from food scraps, earth and mushrooms. My watercolors are painted on a birch board I mounted paper to for added vibrancy and depth. You can see my work in person at My salon suite in mission viejo or at The Cottage Gallery on Los Rios Street in San Juan Capistrano, California.

Living Ink mixed media paintings
When I was a kid I didn’t think I could draw, later I figured out I was not drawing the right things. Now I love drawing nature and what a better pairing to actually paint with watercolor made from soil and living ink that I made. Living ink is made from food scraps like beets, avocado and flowers like marigolds and roses. I boil the ink then leave it to deepen checking the color every hour sometimes for days then add some binder so it will absorb into the watercolor paper and preserve the ink. Some of the inks are sensitive to light and will lighten or change color over time, it’s best to keep away from the sun.

I am Jennifer, I am a Southern California native and I get my inspiration from the beautiful nature around me. I paint with watercolor and I make my own living ink from plants and food scraps. I love to paint things that make people happy, mostly I paint flowers, mushrooms, and succulents.
